The Miz is set for a busy WrestleMania 42 weekend. However, his most surprising role won’t take place inside the ring. Instead, it will unfold in a very different kind of “main event” setting.
During WrestleMania week in Las Vegas, The Miz will step in as an officiant for a unique fan-focused experience. This adds a new chapter to his already stacked schedule that includes hosting duties and ongoing storyline involvement.
The Miz explains why he agreed to officiate weddings during WrestleMania weekend
As part of the “WWEdding Experience” in partnership with ESPN, The Miz will officiate five weddings on April 16 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel. The concept places couples inside a wrestling ring — proving that for WWE fans, love and lockups can share the same spotlight.
Speaking on The TMZ Podcast, Miz admitted the idea initially caught him off guard. “They asked me… ‘do you wanna officiate five weddings?’ And I was like, really?” he said. However, he quickly embraced the opportunity. He added, “Thousands upon thousands of people want to be married by me, which I did not think that would happen.”
Rather than treating it as a quick cameo, Miz plans to personalize each ceremony. “I want to make it worth their while… I want to give them the opportunity… get an idea of what they want,” he explained. He even joked about attire, debating whether fans would prefer a tuxedo or full ring gear — because for The Miz, presentation is everything, and this “segment” might need both a script and a spotlight.
Outside of wedding bells, Miz remains part of WWE programming heading into WrestleMania. He is currently aligned with Kit Wilson as a mentor while dealing with Danhausen’s ongoing “curse” storyline. After Wilson’s recent loss to Danhausen on SmackDown, tensions have hinted at a possible handicap match, though nothing is official.
With hosting duties at the Hall of Fame and now officiating weddings, Miz may not have a marquee match — but he’s still making sure WrestleMania weekend is, fittingly, must-see “I do” TV.
