CM Punk shares his reactions to Roman Reigns calling him out ahead of their clash at WWE WrestleMania 42.
Reigning World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk appeared on ESPN’s Get Up ahead of WWE WrestleMania 42. During the interview, he responded to Roman Reigns calling him out in a recent car promo by saying the whole pro wrestling industry coddles him because some internet marks love him. Punk responded that he’s in no mood to lose this Sunday and that he’ll send Reigns to the orthodontist after their match.
“My response is, man, I wish he brought that energy the days he actually decided to show up on a couple of Mondays,” CM Punk said. “I take nothing away from Roman. Tremendous superstar. He has the credentials. He’s a heavyweight. He’s going to be a tough out for me. But I am not looking to lose on Sunday. I’m sure he isn’t either.
“But this is about pro wrestling versus cinema, and I’m glad that he had four days to shower and think about what he would say to me in a rebuttal and did it in a car while I wasn’t around. But I’m going to be around and in his face on Sunday, and I’m going to send him to the orthodontist. I’m going to make his orthodontist a very rich person,” CM Punk said.
CM Punk says beating Roman Reigns would rank high in his greatest WWE moments
CM Punk also noted that when he defeats Roman Reigns this Sunday at WrestleMania, the win will rank among the top two greatest moments of his entire WWE career.
“At the top, you know, like top one, two for sure. I’ve been fortunate in my career to have what I like to call once-in-a-lifetime moments multiple times. But that’s what CM Punk does. He creates those moments. He creates history and unforgettable things that fans will remember and talk to their kids and grandkids about.
Punk believes he’s lucky to be part of WrestleMania 42 alongside AJ Lee
Speaking further, CM Punk also noted that he feels lucky to be part of WWE WrestleMania 42 alongside his wife, AJ Lee. He’s excited to see her first singles match at the PLE and to see her retain the Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Becky Lynch.
“Makes me believe in luck. You know, I always say luck is for losers. I think life is what you make of it. And the success that I have, and she has, is more like opportunity meets preparation. But working side by side with her and watching her get to smash Becky Lynch’s kneecaps into dust is a dream come true. It’s going to be a lot of fun,” CM Punk said.
