Paige Shows Off Bloody Head Injury After Getting Busted Open on WWE SmackDown

Paige shows off the head injury she sustained at the hands of Nia Jax on WWE SmackDown.

Following their successful title defense against The Irresistible Forces on the May 1 episode of WWE SmackDown, Women’s Tag Team Champions Paige and Brie Bella appeared on last night’s show in a promo segment. It turned physical after Fatal Influence and the Forces interrupted them.

During the scuffle, Paige got busted open after Nia Jax struck her on the head with a microphone. She then took to social media to post a clip of herself being treated by the medical staff backstage and a picture of the cut on her head.

“So @LinaFanene said ‘welcome back bi*ch,'” Paige wrote.

Paige returned to WWE at WrestleMania 42, replacing an injured Nikki Bella to win the Women’s Tag Team Championship with Brie Bella. Nikki Bella is out with an ankle injury she sustained back in March, and recently provided a timeframe for her return.

Paige reveals her WWE return was based on two major conditions

During her recent appearance on Stephanie McMahon’s What’s Your Story podcast, Paige revealed that WWE President Nick Khan had two conditions for her return to the promotion. Considering her prior career-threatening neck injury that caused her first retirement, Khan wanted her neck evaluated ahead of WrestleMania 42 and also wanted her to take a drug test.

“So [The Rock’s agent Brad Slater] calls Nick [Khan] and within 30 minutes Nick had said, ‘Sure, let’s get a meeting with her.’ So a week later he flies to LA to the WWE offices there, I went and met him for like 10 minutes. Great guy, love him, big fan of him. Super smart oh my gosh, he’s got a business brain on him. I thought I’d be intimidated by him but he’s easy going.

“He goes, ‘Two things: your neck needs to be ok and we have to do a drug test.’ I was like, ‘Fair enough.’ Hey, I can control the drug test I’m clean as a whistle. I don’t know how my neck’s been. It’s been a few years since I got it checked. Last time I got it checked it was perfect so I’m not really concerned about it,” Paige said. (H/T WrestleTalk)
