The next chapter for former The New Day members Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods has begun to take shape following their reported WWE departures earlier this month.
While speculation continues surrounding their long-term future, the duo has now lined up their first major public appearances outside the company.
According to reports from PWInsider Elite, Kingston and Woods are scheduled to appear at upcoming GalaxyCon events in Oklahoma City and Nashville, Tennessee, over the weekends of May 24 and May 30.
GalaxyCon is advertising Woods under the name “Austin Creed.” The New Day star used this ring name prior to joining WWE. He has continued using it for outside projects, including UpUpDownDown.
As per GalaxyCon, “Kofi is a Ghanaian-American professional wrestler best known for his legendary career in WWE. Since debuting in 2007, Kingston has become one of WWE’s most exciting high-flyers, earning fan-favorite status through his athleticism, charisma, and unforgettable Royal Rumble moments. He is a former WWE Champion, the first African-born WWE Champion, and a decorated titleholder with reigns as Intercontinental Champion, United States Champion, and multiple-time Tag Team Champion. Kingston is also known as a member of The New Day alongside Xavier Woods and Big E, one of WWE’s most popular and decorated factions.”
“Austin Creed is an American professional wrestler, entertainer, and creator. Known for his charisma, athleticism, and love of gaming and pop culture, Creed has become a fan favorite both in and out of the ring. Before joining WWE, he competed in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, NWA Anarchy, and other independent promotions. In WWE, he rose to worldwide recognition as a member of The New Day alongside Kofi Kingston and Big E, becoming part of one of the most popular and decorated teams in modern wrestling. Throughout his career, Creed has held multiple championships, including WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships, the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship, and TNA World Tag Team Championships.”
The appearances mark the first confirmed bookings for the pair since WWE reportedly asked them to restructure their contracts under new TKO-era terms. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE internally viewed Kingston and Woods as talents without major long-term creative plans moving forward.
Dave Meltzer reported WWE offered the duo reduced deals to remain with the company in smaller roles. These included promotional work alongside limited in-ring appearances.
Instead, both reportedly chose to leave WWE. In wrestling terms, they decided not to tag into a different contract finish.
Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods begin post-WWE schedule
GalaxyCon’s promotional material highlights both men’s decorated wrestling careers and their success as members of The New Day alongside Big E.
Kingston attained acclaim for his historic WWE Championship reign and multiple tag team accomplishments. On the other side, Creed’s profile spotlights his work outside wrestling in gaming and entertainment.
Bryan Alvarez later added that WWE specifically asked the pair to move into new TKO-structured deals before agreeing to their release from WWE.
At the same time, speculation around a possible AEW landing spot has continued to grow. Reports previously suggested there is notable excitement within AEW circles about the possibility of bringing Kingston and Woods into the company, especially given years of crossover teases involving The Young Bucks.
For now, however, Kingston and Woods appear focused on reconnecting with fans as they begin life after WWE — proving the power of positivity may still have a few more chapters left.
