Blake Monroe may finally be ready to make her long-awaited move to WWE SmackDown. A new backstage report suggests the wait could be almost over.
After weeks of teaser vignettes airing on Friday nights, the former NXT Women’s North American Champion appears closer than ever to stepping onto the blue brand.
According to reports from PWInsider Elite and Fightful Select, Monroe is expected to travel with the SmackDown roster next week when WWE heads to Lexington, Kentucky, for the May 22 episode at Rupp Arena. However, neither report confirmed that her official debut will definitely happen on the show.
That little bit of mystery keeps the “coming soon” graphics from turning into a false finish just yet.
Blake Monroe’s WWE SmackDown arrival appears imminent
WWE first teased Monroe’s move to SmackDown during the April 24 episode. They aired promotional vignettes highlighting “The Glamour,” signalling that her main roster arrival was on the horizon. Since then, fans have been waiting to see when the company would finally pull the trigger.
Monroe’s last televised NXT match came at NXT Revenge on April 21, where she lost the NXT Women’s North American Championship to Tatum Paxley in a Casket Match. The timing of that loss immediately fueled speculation that a call-up was on the way.
If Monroe does appear next week, she’ll join a growing list of post-WrestleMania NXT promotions to the main roster. Recent additions to SmackDown and WWE television have included Ricky Saints, Sol Ruca, Ethan Page, Joe Hendry, and the Fatal Influence faction.
The May 22 SmackDown episode is already being promoted with appearances from Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, Jade Cargill, Tiffany Stratton, Randy Orton, and Drew McIntyre. Monroe potentially joining that mix could add even more depth to an already stacked women’s division.
For now, WWE fans may want to keep one eye on the entrance stage next Friday. After weeks of hype packages, Monroe’s main roster moment could finally be ready to cash in.
