Joe Gacy is officially stepping back into the ring following his WWE release, but fans will have to get used to a new name when the former Wyatt Sicks member resurfaces on the independent scene.
Gacy confirmed on social media that his first post-WWE appearance has been locked in for Wrestling REVOLVER’s upcoming event in Nashville, Tennessee on July 24.
The former WWE Tag Team Champion will now compete under the name “Joseph Sawyer” as he begins the next chapter of his career outside WWE. For fans of his eerie character work, the news hit harder than a clothesline from the dark side.
“My first appearance is finally announced. See me in Nashville ?,” Sawyer wrote on X.
The Wrestling REVOLVER event, titled The Silence of the Lambs, will stream live for free on YouTube. No opponent has been announced yet, but the card already features notable names including Jon Moxley, Mance Warner, Killer Kelly, and Myron Reed.

The timing of the appearance is especially notable because July 24 falls exactly three months after Gacy’s WWE release on April 24, 2026. That date aligns with the expiration of the standard non-compete clause tied to WWE departures, making this the earliest possible return for the former Wyatt Sicks member.
Gacy was released alongside fellow Wyatt Sicks stablemates Bo Dallas, Nikki Cross, Dexter Lumis, and Erick Rowan during WWE’s post-WrestleMania 42 roster cuts.
Before his release, Gacy and Lumis captured the WWE Tag Team Championships during their SmackDown run.
His unsettling promos and unpredictable in-ring style made him one of WWE’s more unusual characters — and now fans are waiting to see how much of that chaos follows him to the indies.
Another future appearance has also been announced for Sept. 20 at Pro Wrestling Junkie’s Gamble It All 2 event in New Jersey, further signaling that Joseph Sawyer’s post-WWE run is already taking shape.
