WWE Honors NASCAR Legend and Former 24/7 Champion Kyle Busch After His Passing

WWE remembers NASCAR legend Kyle Busch following his passing.

Kyle Busch passed away at the age of 41 on May 21 following a sudden hospitalization due to a severe illness, according to his family.

On its official website, WWE paid tribute to the former two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion.

“WWE is saddened to learn that legendary NASCAR driver and avid WWE fan Kyle Busch has passed away,” the statement read.

An avid pro wrestling fan, Busch guest-hosted an episode of WWE RAW in 2009 alongside Joey Logano.

The pair had a confrontation with then-tag team champions JeriShow (Chris Jericho and Big Show). Busch also drove a WWE-themed car to Victory Lane in 2010.

His most memorable appearance, however, came on December 2, 2019, episode of RAW when he pinned R-Truth for the WWE 24/7 Championship, becoming the only NASCAR driver to ever win the title. Truth would regain the title later during the show.

WWE concluded its statement by extending condolences to Busch’s family, friends, and fans.

Busch raced from 2001 to 2026, most notably driving the No. 18 in the NASCAR Cup Series, the No. 51 primarily in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, and the No. 54 in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series.
