Lil Yachty’s WWE journey is starting to become much more than just celebrity appearances. The Grammy-nominated rapper has now begun training at WWE’s Performance Center for his possible in-ring debut.
Yachty has been a wrestling fan for years, but his connection with WWE grew stronger when he teamed up with Trick Williams during the road to WrestleMania 42. What started as a celebrity crossover soon turned into a regular presence on WWE TV, and fans have responded positively to it so far.
Lil Yachty Reveals Goal After WWE Performance Center Training
WWE recently released footage of Yachty training alongside the US champion Trick Williams. The video showed him learning the basics of wrestling, like rolls, drills, and taking bumps under the supervision of WWE coaches.
Unlike many celebrity guests who make a few appearances and leave, Yachty has made it clear that he wants to stay involved with WWE. His latest training sessions show that he is serious about eventually competing inside the ring.
Speaking about why he decided to try wrestling, Yachty said WWE offers a challenge he hasn’t felt in a long time.
“I ain’t worked out in five years, but I’ve been doing music for 10 years. I’m a creator, I understand it like the back of my hand. There’s not really any challenge in that. This is new for me I’m at ground zero, level zero, so it’s a challenge and testing my body and limits in ways I’ve never done before. So it’s fresh, it’s new,” Yachty explained.
Yachty is enjoying the pain. He also revealed his goals in the WWE ring.
“I enjoy the pain, I enjoy the struggle because I feel like I’m working and I’m always setting goals. It was a goal to get here and I’m here. So now the goal is to transform this body and try whooping some a** in that ring,” Yachty said.
The rapper credited Williams for helping him adjust to the wrestling world. The two have built a close friendship through WWE, and Yachty said he has learned a lot from being around the US champion.
The video also showed Yachty training with veteran WWE coach Norman Smiley. Williams remained by his side throughout the sessions, guiding him through the process.
