WWE Superstar Kit Wilson has publicly apologized after being absent from the May 29 episode of SmackDown in Barcelona, Spain, revealing that travel complications prevented him from making the show during WWE’s ongoing European tour.
The absence raised questions among fans, especially given Wilson’s recent involvement in a storyline alongside The Miz.
However, the SmackDown star quickly addressed the situation himself, offering an explanation and a touch of the humor that has become part of his on-screen persona.
Kit Wilson addresses Barcelona SmackDown absence
Taking to social media (X) after the event, Wilson shared a statement directed at both the live crowd in Barcelona and viewers watching at home.
“To everyone at Friday Night SmackDown in Barcelona tonight, and the WWE Universe watching at home, I want to apologise for not being there,” Wilson wrote.
According to Wilson, multiple travel issues and airport complications prevented him from returning to Europe in time for the show.
“Unfortunately I wasn’t able to make it back to Europe due to multiple travel complications and issues at the airport. I’m absolutely gutted. This is the first time I’ve ever missed a show.”
Wilson also referenced his recent alliance with The Miz, apologizing directly to his mentor for the unexpected absence.
“I’d also like to apologise to my mentor, The Miz, for letting him down, it won’t happen again.”
In classic Kit Wilson fashion, he ended the statement with a playful jab aimed at wrestling media speculation.
“P.S. To the ‘dirt sheets’. Leave me alone. Stop the articles. Yes, I had over 100ml of moisturisers and creams in my bag… but Kit’s gotta look good.”
The timing is notable given Wilson’s current SmackDown storyline. He has recently been teaming with The Miz while dealing with the ongoing fallout from Danhausen’s alleged curse and a developing rivalry involving Fraxiom.
