WWE SmackDown Results

Jade Cargill starts the show and says she’s confused, because they act like she has something to prove. The crowd boos her and she, Michin and B-Fab egg them on until Rhea Ripley interrupts the segment. Ripley says Jade can brag about being dominant all she wants, but she will beat Jade on Sunday just like she did at WrestleMania.

Jade says the women’s division doesn’t revolve around Rhea, who she just sees as weak. Jade says Rhea just works with women who don’t even like her, which brings Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss to the ring. After some back and forth, Nick Aldis comes out and books a match on the spot.

Jade Cargill vs. Alexa Bliss

B-Fab and Michin eventually get involved and trip Alexa, but Charlotte and Rhea run over to even the odds. The four fight their way backstage as Alexa heads up top for Twisted Bliss. Jade gets her knees up to block, then connects with a pump and follows with Jaded for the win.

Winner – Jade Cargill

Jade grabs a steel chair from under the ring and hits another Jaded on the chair. Charlotte and Rhea rush back out to make the save, but Jade runs off and taunts them from the ramp.

Cathy Kelley joins Cody Rhodes backstage, but Sami Zayn gets in his face before he can speak. Sami asks if Cody has something to say, but Cody says he’s got nothing to say. Sami says Cody should think about apologizing because he didn’t ask for a fight. He says he tried to do the right thing, but Cody stabbed him in the back. Cody loses it and says Sami had a choice to help, but he walked out on him. Sami says he wanted to help because he’s a good guy, but he didn’t help because the right thing was to let Cody learn his lesson. Cody says when he’s done with Gunther tonight, he hopes to teach Sami a lesson too.

Nick Aldis is shown talking to Danhausen, whose science equipment has gone missing. Danhausen asks what he’s supposed to do, and Aldis says he should earn his human money and maybe “improvise” his science experiments. Danhausen takes Aldis’ advice the wrong way and runs off, stealing things in the background as Miz complains about his match. Miz wants to get out of the match and says he can beat anyone, so Aldis tells him to prove it.

The Miz vs. Axiom

The lights flickered a couple of times during the match. Wade Barrett implied Danhausen was responsible, while Joe Tessitore said it was due to blackouts from the heat. Axiom hits Spanish Fly and a Golden Ratio for the win.

Winner – Axiom

R-Truth says he can’t compete, so he got Damian Priest a substitute partner for the night. Priest and Royce Keys will deal with the MFTs, but Priest doesn’t like it. Keys tells him to have fun getting jumped, and Priest doesn’t think he can trust him. Truth asks if he’s scared, which Priest denies.

Sami Zayn is shown venting backstage to Candice LeRae… sort of. Sami says he wasn’t talking to her, pointing over at Johnny Gargano, who’s just laying on the staircase. Matt Cardona comes over and says things aren’t going his way either, but he’s not acting like a little… Zayn asks him to finish what he’s saying, then says he can’t let it stand. Sami calls him out for a match.

Alexa Bliss is shown icing her face after Jade Cargill’s attack. Charlotte Flair walks over to Rhea Ripley and says Alexa is pissed off. Charlotte wants a piece of Jade, but Rhea tells her not to worry. Charlotte says if Rhea doesn’t take care of it at Clash in Italy, she will, because Jade has a receipt coming her way.

Damian Priest and Royce Keys vs. MFT (Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga)

Solo Sikoa takes a cheap shot, and R-Truth runs out to assist. However, it’s not enough as Talla hits a T-Bomb chokeslam on Priest for the win.

Winners – MFT

The Miz threatens to sue Nick Aldis for workplace safety. Aldis says he’ll get to the bottom of it, but Miz says they know who is doing it. Danhausen is then show putting out a fire, and Miz runs after getting hit with the fire extinguisher. Danhausen yells at Aldis not to touch what’s under the sheet.

A recap of the Jacob Fatu versus Roman Reigns feud airs.

Chelsea Green tries to get on the same page with Tiffany Stratton for her return match, but Tiffy isn’t having it. Tiffany says last week didn’t mean much and walks off, and Chelsea looks upset after Tiffany won’t be in her corner.

Sami Zayn vs. Matt Cardona

Sami wins a back and forth match after hitting an exploder suplex and a Helluva Kick.

Winner – Sami Zayn

WWE airs a promo hyping the history of the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments.

Nick Aldis tells Gunther he granted him some air time, but asks him to keep it civilized. Gunther says he will attack Cody Rhodes verbally and tell him how he really feels.

Trick Williams and Lil Yachty come to the ring, and Trick cuts a promo about how there’s no one better than him in the last six months. He says he’s going to win the King of the Ring tournament, but he gets interrupted by Carmelo Hayes, who says that’s not going to happen. Trick accuses Melo of making excuses about coming up short to him, then cracks a short joke about Melo’s height.

This brings Ricky Saints out, and he says no one wants to hear the “telenovela” stuff. He issues a challenge to Trick, who calls him a bobblehead that makes him sick. Saints takes a Trick Slap, then Melo and Trick talk trash as we go to the next match.

Ricky Saints vs. Carmelo Hayes

The match goes to a double countout, as Hayes and Saints were fighting at ringside and failed to meet the ten count. Hayes tries to reason with the referee and gets attacked from behind. Melo rebounds and hits First 48 to send Saints out of the ring.

Result – Double Countout

Nia Jax approaches Tiffany Stratton and says it’s a good idea that she’s staying out of Chelsea Green’s business. Lash says once they deal with Chelsea, they might look into finding a new home for Tiffany’s United States Championship.

A Blake Monroe promo airs.

Chelsea Green vs. Tiffany Stratton

Nia hits a Samoan drop and drags Chelsea into the corner to set up the Annihilator. Tiffany Stratton’s music cues up and everyone looks at the entrance ramp. Instead, Tiffany sneaks in and decks Nia, allowing Chelsea to pick up the surprise win. Chelsea tried to hug Tiffany and thank her for helping, but Tiffany denied the request and left.

Winner – Chelsea Green

Paige and Brie Bella are backstage with Cathy Kelley when Fatal Influence interrupt them. Jacy Jayne declares for the Queen of the Ring tournament, and Fallon Henley teases coming for the tag team titles.

Gunther makes Cody Rhodes a promise

Cody Rhodes and Gunther come to the ring for their face-to-face, and Gunther says Cody has been rewarded by nepotism and favoritism. He says Cody represents the crumbling American Dream, or at least the concept of it. Cody had everything handed to him, while he earned his way, and he believes Cody is an entitled brat.

Gunther says he wants to save wrestling from people like Cody, who only cares about himself. He says Cody is his own biggest fan and a mark for himself. Cody finally takes issue and calls Gunther a liar, pointing out that everyone who wants to be a wrestler grows up wanting the title, and the attention that comes with it.

Cody knows Gunther wants it, pointing out that he’d be talking to a 300-plus pound version of him on the indies, alluding to his old physique. Cody says being champion is addictive, and Gunther is just as sick as he is. Cody says Gunther might get ‘this close’ to the title at Clash in Italy, but he’s also going to find out that he’s just not that good.

Cody goes to leave, but Gunther grabs him by the arm and stares a hole into him. Gunther questions being called a liar and points out how he promised to choke Goldberg out, and he did it. He promised AJ Styles and John Cena he’d do the same, and he did it, so he has a promise for Cody; on Sunday, he’ll choke Cody out and take his title with him.
