WWE‘s Chad Gable/Original El Grande Americano shares his reaction after being unmasked at AAA Noche de Los Grande.
In the conclusion to one of the most entertaining wrestling storylines of all time, WWE’s Chad Gable lost his alternate identity as the Original El Grande Americano. He lost to El Grande Americano (Ludwig Kaiser) in a stunning mask vs. mask match in the main event of the AAA Noche de Los Grandes event.
Chad Gable’s wife and three children joined him in the ring when he took off the mask. He then cut a passionate promo despite being bloodied in the match, saying he’ll always be the original. However, he said he was no longer El Grande Americano, as that title now belongs to Ludwig Kaiser’s version. He praised AAA, vowed to return to the promotion down the line, and walked out to loud cheers from the fans.
After the event, Chad Gable took to Instagram to react to the loss. Posting a video of him unmasking after the match, he wrote:
“Tonight the mask died. And suddenly I feel more ALIVE than ever.”
Chad Gable debuted the El Grande Americano persona in March 2025 as a result of his quest to uncover the secrets of the “dark arts” of Lucha Libre. However, an unexpected injury in June led WWE to create another version of the luchador with Ludwig Kaiser. Gable returned as the character during the 2026 Royal Rumble match and feuded with Americano II until the culmination yesterday.
