Update: The auction for the chair has been removed.
WWE is auctioning a “match-used” steel chair. There’s only one problem— it was never used in the match the listing claims it’s from.
WWE and Fanatics are auctioning a steel chair they claim was used in the women’s WarGames match at Survivor Series 2022. The contest saw Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Mia Yim/Michin, and Becky Lynch defeat Bayley, Dakota Kai, Iyo Sky, Nikki Cross, and Rhea Ripley.
“The first women’s WarGames match on WWE’s main roster needed a weapon that looked as unforgiving as the stipulation sounded. Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Mia Yim and the returning Becky Lynch beat Damage CTRL, Nikki Cross and Rhea Ripley at Survivor Series 2022, closing a months-long fight with steel all around them. This authentic match-used steel chair comes from that Women’s WarGames match. No autograph has to dress it up. Becky came back, the cage held and the chair took its share of the damage,” the description read.
The ‘match used’ steel chair wasn’t used in the match it’s listed for
The current bid for the chair stands at $75. However, the interesting thing is that no one used a steel chair during the 2022 Women’s WarGames match.
Nikki Cross introduced trash can lids, kendo sticks, and handcuffs. Bayley brought in a ladder and a table, and Michin got her hands on some trash cans. However, there wasn’t a single steel chair on sight throughout the contest.
While the steel chair is questionable, WWE’s El Grande Americano recently announced he’s auctioning the mask he wore at AAA Noche de Los Grandes for charity. The auction ends in a day, and the current bids stand at an impressive $40,015.
