WWE’s AJ Styles Reveals Plans for His Own Wrestling School

AJ Styles has opened up about a potential future project away from the ring. He revealed that he would like to establish his own wrestling training facility.

Styles recently discussed the idea while reflecting on talent development and helping the young wrestlers reach the next level.

Although no official plans have come to light, Styles provided insight into the kind of training environment he would like to create. Most importantly, it wouldn’t be open to just anyone.

AJ Styles wants an invite-only wrestling school similar to The Dungeon

Speaking on his Phenomenally Retro podcast, AJ Styles explained that he found inspiration from the invite-only training model used by Natalya and TJ Wilson at The Dungeon.

“I would like to get something like Nattie and TJ (Wilson) have, you know, with their Dungeon because it’s an invite-only kind of experience, right?” Styles said.

According to the former WWE Champion, the appeal of that setup is the ability to work with talent who already have a foundation in professional wrestling.

“You’re invited. That means that you’re well enough known that we know you can get in here and you can hold your own in this ring.”

Styles explained that he would like the facility to be located close enough for him to remain actively involved in the development process. Rather than simply running a school, he wants to work directly with wrestlers looking to advance their careers.

“To have something like that close to me so that I can work with WWE guys and girls, that would be great. That’d be important that way I could see their progression.”

The veteran added that helping wrestlers prepare for opportunities would be one of his primary goals.

“I can help them out with the little things, you know, and help them get to that next level. Maybe they’re hoping to get a tryout and before that tryout we can get in there and work together a little bit and help them get to that next level.”

Styles concluded by making his intentions clear.

“That would be something I would like to do.”

The comments come as Styles continues contributing behind the scenes in WWE, focusing on talent recruitment and development. If the Phenomenal One eventually opens his own school, it could become another important stepping stone for future WWE prospects looking to make a phenomenal first impression.
