WWE Legend AJ Styles Helps Son Win Pro Wrestling Debut

WWE legend AJ Styles helped his son win his first pro wrestling match.

Avery Jones (19), the second son of WWE Hall of Famer AJ Styles, made his in-ring debut on Friday, June 26, 2026. He went one-on-one with a wrestler named Ashton Martin at an event held by Royston, Georgia-based promotion Squared Circle Action. Styles was in his corner during the match.

A clip he posted on his Instagram story shows Avery Jones performing his father’s famous slide under the guardrail and Phenomenal Forearm spot. In the match’s final moments, AJ Styles entered the ring, teased hitting the opponent with a Styles Clash, but asked his son to do it instead. Jones then performed the iconic finisher, and The Phenomenal One counted the pin to help his son get the victory.

AJ Styles teased returning to the ring to team with his son

AJ Styles retired from in-ring competition after losing his match against Gunther at the 2026 Royal Rumble and took his place in the WWE Hall of Fame during WrestleMania 42 weekend. However, speaking on What’s Your Story? with Stephanie McMahon, he didn’t rule out a return to the ring in the future. He noted that it would be hard to turn down an opportunity to tag with his son and shared that his daughter is also interested in wrestling.

“Well, I mean, what if my son wrestles? Well, the opportunity to tag with him once. And you never know. So, there’ll be a time when the gloves will never go back on or maybe now but we’ll see,” Styles said.

“And then who knows if my daughter? My third son has nothing to do with anything sports whatsoever. He doesn’t care about it. “Styles added, “But, you know, it would surprise me if my daughter got into it. She’d be like the Rey Mysterio of the women’s. Oh yeah. She’s tiny. She’s small. But, you know, we’ll see.”
