New Undisputed WWE Champion Sami Zayn has a friendly yet sarcastic birthday wish for Cody Rhodes.
Cody Rhodes celebrates his 41st birthday today, June 30, 2026. As he continues to receive wishes from his fans and wrestling personalities, he received a special one from Sami Zayn, the superstar who beat him for the Undisputed WWE Championship only a few days ago at Night of Champions.
Sami Zayn took to X/Twitter to wish his “friend” Cody Rhodes a happy birthday, alongside a photo of himself smiling. “Happy birthday to my friend Cody Rhodes,” he wrote. While it might look genuine, he had the WWE Championship belt in clear view in the picture, seemingly rubbing it in his face for saying that he’d never win the title just a few days ago.
Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn didn’t see eye to eye for several weeks. Rhodes also struck a nerve by bringing up his best friend, Kevin Owens, saying he’s won a world title while Zayn would probably never win one. Sami Zayn responded to it by shocking Rhodes and Gunther at Night of Champions to win his first WWE Championship.

It appears Sami Zayn is on cloud nine after winning his first WWE Championship. He also posted a video of himself enjoying a chill convertible drive with the title belt on X/Twitter.
As he continues to enjoy his achievement, WWE announced that his first appearance as the champion will take place on this week’s episode of SmackDown. The episode was taped following this week’s RAW.
