AEW star Buddy Matthews has teased a long-awaited in-ring return. Fans may not have to wait much longer.
Matthews has been away from AEW since February 2025. He suffered an ankle injury before facing Kazuchika Okada. The injury happened during his entrance for the match. Despite that, Matthews still finished the championship bout. He later underwent surgery and he started his recovery process.
AEW star Buddy Matthews hints his return is getting close
Buddy Matthews has now reportedly been medically cleared to compete. However, AEW has not confirmed his return date yet. That could be changing pretty soon though. The former House of Black member recently shared a cryptic Instagram post.
He uploaded a photo from one of his entrances. Matthews also included a message that quickly caught fans attention. He wrote, “The Devil signed the clearance. Hell stamped its approval. No more barriers. Only timing.”
Matthews has been missing from AEW for over a year. His latest post only added more excitement around it. AEW has not confirmed a return date yet. However, Matthews’ latest tease suggests his in-ring comeback could happen very soon.
