Jacob Fatu’s Wife Changed How He Treats WWE Fans in Public

Jacob Fatu has built a reputation as one of WWE’s most intimidating competitors, but outside the ring, the “Samoan Werewolf” says one person completely changed the way he approaches fans.

Ahead of SummerSlam, Fatu opened up about a lesson from his wife that continues to shape every public interaction.

Speaking during an appearance on Hot 97, Fatu shared how a difficult moment early in his rise forced him to look at fame from a very different perspective.

Jacob Fatu credits wife Elizabeth Fatu for keeping him grounded

Fatu admitted that while he would never lash out at a fan, he once had a bad day that prompted his wife, Elizabeth Fatu, to remind him where he came from.

“I remember my wife. I was having a bad day. I’m never cussing out a fan. I would never do that. ‘Cuz my wife had to humble me. ‘Hey man, remember when nobody knew your ass.'”

That conversation stayed with him, but another point his wife made had an even bigger impact. She encouraged him to think about how their seven children would feel if they met someone they admired and were treated poorly.

“Hey man, you know, treat people good… You don’t want our kids to recognize somebody, walk up to them, and they’re so happy to see them and they [expletive] on them.”

Fatu said that advice permanently changed his outlook. Instead of focusing on a bad day, he now remembers what it felt like to hope someone would recognize him.

“I will never forget when my wife was like, ‘Hey, remember when your ass wanted somebody to recognize you?’… Hey man, what’s going on?… Do you need some money, too?”

He also recalled a recent encounter at an airport around 4 a.m. While traveling with his son, Fatu initially tried to hide his identity from a fan because he was exhausted. However, remembering his wife’s words, he quickly changed course and made sure the fan left with a positive experience. It was a reminder that outside the squared circle, kindness can be the real finishing move.

Fatu will soon return to the spotlight at SummerSlam 2026, where he is scheduled to team with Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso against LA Knight, Solo Sikoa, and Royce Keys in a six-man tag team match made official on the July 13 episode of Monday Night Raw.
