Former WWE Star Reveals Brock Lesnar Backed Him After His John Cena Pairing Ended

Brock Lesnar has spent most of his WWE career being known as one of the most dominant stars ever, and fans usually know him for his serious attitude. But former WWE star Bull Buchanan has now shared a story that shows a different side of Lesnar.

Buchanan recently revealed that Lesnar once spoke to Vince McMahon on his behalf after Buchanan’s partnership with John Cena came to an end. It’s a story about how Lesnar tried to help another wrestler behind the scenes during the early years of his WWE career.

Brock Lesnar tried to help Bull Buchanan stay relevant

Speaking on Rewind Recap Relive, Buchanan looked back at the time after WWE bought WCW, when the roster became much bigger. Instead of sitting at home without TV time, Buchanan returned to WWE’s developmental system, Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW). It was there that he trained alongside what would later become one of the greatest classes in wrestling history.

Buchanan said he felt his WWE future was in trouble after WWE split him and John Cena apart on TV. Their partnership didn’t last long, and he believed that was the beginning of the end for his run.

Soon after, Buchanan found out that a few people had spoken to Vince McMahon about giving him another chance. One of those people was Lesnar.

“The day they broke me and Cena up, I kind of saw the writing on the wall. A couple of people came to me and said, ‘Hey listen, I want you to know, I went to Vince and said you need to find something else to do with him’, and one of those guys was Brock. Brock Lesnar,” Buchanan said.

Buchanan didn’t say whether Lesnar’s conversation with McMahon led to any new creative plans. Still, he appreciated that Lesnar took the time to speak up for him. Since Lesnar isn’t known for getting involved in other wrestlers’ storylines backstage, the story stands out even more.
