Matt Cardona: ‘Life On The Ropes’ Reality Show Is ‘Dead In The Water’

Matt Cardona says that plans for a “Major” reality series are no longer moving forward.

Cardona and Brian Myers shared a trailer for a reality series on the Major Pod Network YouTube channel in March.

The show, titled Life on the Ropes, would spotlight Matt Cardona and Brian Myers and their journey in the wrestling world. The Major Wrestling Figure podcast team had been working with Scott Yager, Texas Crew Productions & Roaming Buffalo Films on developing the project.

The series was only in development. At the time, WrestleZone confirmed that it was more of a proof-of-concept trailer and not a finished product that was ready to air.

Matt Cardona spoke with WrestleZone‘s Bill Pritchard for a new interview promoting his return to NWA. Pritchard asked Cardona for a status update on the reality show. Unfortunately, the show is not moving forward.

“Unfortunately, it’s dead in the water. Us putting it out on YouTube was kind of just putting it out for us because we had taken up so much time not only thinking about it, but filming it and filming all this stuff for it. And unfortunately, nobody picked it up. [We thought] ‘Might as well put it on our YouTube channel, get some views on it,’” Cardona explained. “But that was it. Hey, listen, if anybody wants to pick it up, feel free.

“As soon as we got released, we had all these people coming to us. All these different production companies saying they want to do some sort of show. Long story short, there’s no show. Hey, if somebody wants it, great. We got it. But at this point, there’s nothing. It was pitched to a bunch of different [platforms],” Cardona noted. “Netflix, all that stuff, A&E. They didn’t want it. So, it is what it is. If it happens, it happens. At the end of the day, I’m not too disappointed.”
