Stars In Progress…Henry As Champ?, Del Rio, Bully Ray, More

Bully Ray

One Easy Step Up

It's no secret that Bully Ray has been known to be true to his name in real life.  He's not the nicest guy in the world, plain and simple.  I've seen it firsthand and there are countless stories to support that claim.

What might make Bully Ray a difficult person to get along with behind the scenes is what makes it so easy for him to perform at a high level in the ring.  Specifically, on the mic.  He's truly believable in every sense of the word and his recent work in TNA has been brilliant.

He has taken a big step up in my book over the past several months and he continues that trend this week.  He is one of the final four in the Bound for Glory Series that I believe wraps up tomorrow night at No Surrender.  Bully Ray will face James Storm and Roode will take on Gunner.  Will the two winners then face each other after that?  I'm not sure if it was clearly explained, but in either case, my pick is for Bully Ray to win his first match and face Roode in the Finals.

I could see TNA giving it to Roode for a variety of reasons and wouldn't have a problem with that either, but I'm curious to see what happens if Bully Ray does get the chance.  As much time and energy as they've put into this new tournament, I'd be surprised if the one that wins the Number One Contendership spot doesn't take the title at BFG, but I guess that's not a given.

As a person, I don't have many positives to say about Bully Ray.  As a talent, I'm somewhat surprised to say that I have become a fan.  He may still have a lot left to accomplish before he's taken seriously as a true singles competitor, but he's off to a great start.
