WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray recently took aim at Jon Moxley.
Moxley currently leads The Death Riders, one of AEW’s most dominant factions. The group has become known for its violent style and ruthless attitude. Alongside Moxley, the faction includes Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Marina Shafir, PAC, and Daniel Garcia.
Over the past year, The Death Riders have played a major role in AEW programming. However, not everyone has been impressed with the faction’s direction. Bully Ray is among those critics.
Bully Ray calls out Jon Moxley and The Death Riders
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray strongly criticized Moxley’s creative vision for the faction. He argued that The Death Riders have done little to help AEW.
“The Death Riders have not helped AEW in any way, shape, or form. The Death Riders are Jon Moxley playing out his pro wrestling fantasies because he’s got Tony [Khan’s] ear. Because he wants to be Terry Funk? I would kick the s**t out of Jon Moxley.”
While he admitted Claudio Castagnoli would be a different challenge, he had no problem taking another shot at Moxley. “But Moxley? I’d beat the living s**t out of him. Fraud.” Despite his criticism, Bully believes AEW still has an opportunity to improve the faction’s presentation
“Hopefully, they book to put asses in seats while incorporating The Death Riders into this main event match, and not just for what they want to see.” He also argued that wrestling should always be focused on drawing money and filling arenas.
“Too many times, I’ve seen wrestlers booked for what they want to see and what they think social media will pop for. The only thing you want to book for is for people to put their hand into their pocket and pay money to sit in a seat. That’s the goal, that’s the business of The Business.” [H/T: Wrestling Inc.]
