Wrestlezone’s Top 10: Women in Wrestling

Number 5: Mickie James

Mickie James

A personal favorite of mine is Mickie James. As a Knockouts Champion, she thrived in some of the better matches I have seen in a while on the women’s level. She is a country girl who has an attitude and feels like the world owes her something. She continues to be a face, but her best work is when she is a heel. Loved by many, James has great in ring abilities, has worked herself back into great shape, and continues to work at a high level. Her storyline with Brooke and the rest of the division is going to lead to something bigger for her, I can feel it. She is, in my opinion, the best women’s wrestler in the past decade. She carried the WWE, carried TNA, and now is in a point of her career where she is altering things to still be one of the very best. Give Mickie credit, because she deserves it. When women’s wrestling was deemed “dead,” she feuded with Trish and had an excellent match on the biggest stage. When her career was “over,” she came to TNA and never looked back. Kudos to Mickie for the desire and willingness to keep going.
