Title This: WWE Smackdown Reaction 8/10/12

Primetime Players def. Primo and Epico

What I Liked:

I continue to be impressed by PTP and their development on TV. From two guys with little talent, they have taken advantage of all of the television time, and continue to make impressions with more than just me. The match was not that great, ended in a DQ, and really did not do much for me. I wanted to see a really solid bout, especially since this episode has been flat on ring action. It feels more like a Raw.

What I Disliked:

Spinning off more, these tag teams continue to fight for the right to face Kofi and R-Truth. They have more of a feud with one another than with the champions, and that is a problem. They've tried to insert them via commentary and a brief altercation, but they still seem like the third most important tag team in the WWE right now.

Grade: D

ChristianChristian def. Antonio Cesaro

What I Liked:

For the first time, we get an extended look at Cesaro, who has the pleasure to work with a solid veteran like Christian. A little odd pairing, but I felt like Cesaro and Christian worked really well together. Cesaro uses some excellent European Uppercuts to garner some offense, but it was all about Christian being able to counter time and time again. Christian wins with a spear, but it was better to see Cesaro attack him post match. You need to utilize the young guys much more than they have been, and it looks like they see something in Cesaro. I know I do.

What I Disliked:

Would it benefit Cesaro more if he picked up a win? That is debatable, but I do think he should have somehow "stole" a victory from Christian. Set up a longer road for Christian and Cesaro, and not make this a random matchup for Smackdown. I hope you get to see more of these two, but I fear we may only get one more match with nothing really coming out of it.
