Wrestlezone’s Top Ten: New WWE Network Features & Programs We Want Soon

#7 – A Full-Length Animated Kid's Series

WWE has been testing the waters with animated kid-friendly entertainment since the launch of the WWE Network, with the debut of Slam City. This series of short episodes features WWE Superstars trying to adjust to life outside pro wrestling, after a mysterious villain – appropriately named The Finisher – fires everyone. Nobody has bothered to ask the million dollar question, what is the WWE doing without employees, but hey, it's for kids.

Slam CitySlam City has been relatively well received, and those complaining generally aren't a part of the target demographic. With WWE's Saturday Morning Slam canceled for 2014, why not develop a full-length animated series aimed at retaining the audience Slam City is creating? This wouldn't exactly be the first time WWE got into the animated game. Does anybody else remember Hulk Hogan's Rock 'n' Wrestling?

I spend a lot of time around kids. My friends all have little ones running around, and the easiest way to calm down screaming children is to put them in front of the television while you're trying to make dinner, or need a few minutes to yourself. With more than 4 million viewers watching Monday Night Raw every week, you have to figure there's a few wrestling fans with kids floating around in the Universe. A full-length animated series about WWE Superstars – completely with marketing friendly toy line – can bridge the gap and indoctrinate an entire new generation of fans.
