Halfway There: Wrestlezone’s Top 10 Biggest Moments in 2014 (So Far)

#9 – Eric Young, TNA World Champion

Vince Russo wrote a great article last month about Eric Young winning the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. A lot of people don't realize this – most likely because he was a comedy character for a number of years – but EY was a part of the very first episode of Impact Wrestling, over ten years ago.

Every other veteran that was at the first episode and stuck around – Roode, Storm, Abyss, Styles, Sabin – has been given a shot at the title. Kazarian is actually one of the only long-time TNA stars on that list who never got that main event singles run. As a guy who showed up to work and did nothing but try and put smiles on the fans' faces for a decade, very few guys deserved a major push more than Young. Heck, don't take my word for it – go read Russo's column; he puts EY over better than I ever could.
