Wrestlezone’s Top 10 Greatest Money in the Bank Ladder Match Performers

#10 – Rob Van Dam

payback newsRob Van Dam has one of my favorite cash-ins over all the Money in the Bank winners. Edge's original cash-in was shocking, but as soon as RVD made his intentions clear to face John Cena for the WWE Championship, in an arena full of hardcore ECW faithful, I knew the match was going to be magic. But this is a list of the greatest performers inside the ladder match, and it's hard to make a list like this without considering the "whole F'n show". There's a small list of guys that are willing to dive off the top of ladders, putting their own body at risk, night after night for their entire career. You pretty much knew that every time RVD was in a Money in the Bank match, he was going to jump off a ladder – even if it cost him the actually match. That said, the leader of the breed of extreme lands at the bottom of the list this weekend. Yes, it does seem like the Money in the Bank was made for a guy like Rob, but if you go back and watch his two performances (including a win!) his participation is surprisingly tame.

#9 – Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes has been in several of these matches, and he always puts forward a solid effort. I wouldn't say he's consistently been the show-stealer, but I can't recall a time he wasn't in the top two or three. Truth be told, I'm disappointed we won't see him in a ladder match at tonight's PPV. There have been several years – especially in his last couple of performances – where Cody was actually considered a favorite to win the match. Last year at Money in the Bank 2013, the match was the catalyst for the break-up of the Rhodes Scholars, and provided some great, unexpected drama to the already exciting ladder match
