Title This: Impact Wrestling Reaction “Championships Shine in Packed Show”

The Wolves defeated Magnus and Bram to retain the TNA Tag Team Championship

impact wrestling reactionThis was a really solid match between an athletic and fast team and one that focuses on power and grit. A top rope hurricanranna from Edwards onto Bram gives him a two count. The challengers are sent to the outside and both men fly with suicide dives. Bram and Magnus beat down the champions after the match is over, which shows how vicious these guys can be. The ending needed to keep Magnus and Bram at this level of tag team competition. They are the best opponents for The Wolves right now, in a division that lacks star power. This is only good for both teams involved, giving them a more personal and aggressive feud.

-Bobby Roode calls out MVP, who is in a wheelchair. He tosses MVP but Kenny King comes out and smacks him with a chair. He punches Roode in the face multiple times until Eric Young comes out and chases MVP. Kenny King gets taken down by the former champion and EY wants some MVP. The champion, Lashley, hits a spear onto EY and the heels stand tall over the faces.

This was not that bad of a segment to try and spotlight Roode’s return as a face. It did lack creativity and real drama, but I understand what they are trying to do. They are trying to make Roode overcome the odds, but they already did that with Eric Young. I would rather see Roode as a heel since he thrives much more in that role.

Austin Aries defeated Sanada to win the X-Division Championship

Sanada starts off early with a few dropkicks and then takes a quick break. Sanada works more of the upper body of Aries. Sanada hits a kick to Aries in the face and is tossed to the outside. Sanada somersaults off the apron and the champion takes over. Finally, Aries hits some elbows to the head of Sanada. Sanada reverses a move and heads to the top. Aries stops him and hits a reverse powerbomb and a running corner dropkick. Bridging suplex gives Sanada a two count and then gets a moonsault onto Aries. He tries another one and Aries moves. Aries hits an elbow drop and hits a suplex combination. Running dropkick and Brainbuster does NOT finish it. Aries hits a 450 splash for the win.

This was an excellent match with everything you want to see. Aries and Sanada really worked a smooth and effective match. I loved the ring psychology of Sanada, which is something we have yet to see from him. He looked frustrated and full of pressure, thanks to The Great Muta coming to TNA next week. As for Aries, the man who created Option C will most likely keep the title and use it to get back to the top of the mountain.
