Title This: WWE Raw Reaction “A Night of Unimportance”

The Eulogy of Dean Ambrose

wwe raw reactionKane talks about how it is a celebration of the future and Seth Rollins. Out comes Rollins and says he was the leader of the most dominant group in WWE history. He said he picked Ambrose for many reasons. He blames the WWE Universe for choosing their match last week. Seth Rollins laughs when they show the footage of last week. He says that he is stronger and smarter than him. He says this was no accident and the casualty can be summed up by “what if?”

Rollins ends the segment by saying that he is the one created The Shield and the one who has destroyed it. Cue Roman Reigns, who comes out through the crowd. Kane and Reigns exchange blows until Kane is tossed into the steel steps. Reigns throws Rollins into the podium and then clotheslines him. Reigns tries for the Spear, but Kane saves him.

I am completely in favor for Reigns vs. Rollins at Night of Champions if they do not want to have him fight Triple H. Do we really want to see Reigns face off against Randy Orton again? Reigns can beat Kane, Orton, Rollins and then face off against Triple H. The only other option I can see is Roman Reigns in a Handicap Match at Night of Champions against Orton and Rollins until Ambrose is able to return and make it a tag match. Ambrose could also return at Night of Champions to help Roman Reigns. Either way, I really have enjoyed the development of Seth Rollins. They need Kane to take a backseat right now.

Gold and Stardust defeated The Uso’s Via Disqualification

Jimmy and Jey make quick tags early and Stardust is able to take control. He works on the arm of Jey and then gets a two count. Stardust sends them to the outside. Goldust hits a tumble from the apron and Stardust hits a cross body as we head to break. Jimmy hits a spinning heel kick and Stardust is barely able to get to his brother. Jey hits a Samoan Drop and then flies to the outside to take out Stardust.  Jey grabs at his knee and gets counted out. Stardust and Goldust pick up the win, but do not win the championships. Goldust says he wants a rematch and wants it now. Goldust and Stardust attack the champions. They dominate the champions in a very “heel” way.

I loved this turn by Gold and Stardust. I have said this for months, that Goldust needs to be a heel like he was in the mid 90’s. He was edgy and really pushed the envelope. If he can get at least half of that I will be happy. You can’t say two tag teams to cheer for. Uso’s are going to be faces because they are simplistic characters. Gold and Stardust can be complex and more creative because of how they can connect in multiple ways with the crowd.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Damien Mizdow

Ziggler hits a neckbreaker and a few quick moves before Mizdow locks in the Figure Four. Ziggler breaks free and hits Zig Zag for the win.

Nothing impressive or important here. Raw has had some bright spots, but this was not one of them. The show has lacked real importance and star power so far.
