#4 – Finn Balor’s Entrance

I don’t know if was planned this was from the start, or if this is something Balor pitched to Triple H before the show, but it was a brilliant idea to hold off on the body paint until Takeover. This is something that took these guys from a mildly interesting attraction on NXT to every fan in the building on their feet, losing their minds over.
If they’re smart about this, it won’t be something they roll out on NXT every week. For one, it would be sort of difficult logistically, with them taping four shows in one night, which would mean they’d need to pre-record all his backstage skits, do them all before or after his in-ring stuff, constantly be touching him up, he couldn’t do any in-ring promos, and…it just becomes more complicated than its probably worth, from a production standpoint. But more importantly, it will lose its sting if done every single week. This should be a 4-times-a-year spectacle, brought out only for the major events, or if they call him up to the main roster. Even then, it should only be brought out for pay-per-view.
Side note: I want to give a shout-out to the guy in the front row who was wearing a “Balor Club” shirt in the style of the super-popular “Bullet Club” shirts. Also to the cute girl who was totally drooling over Balor while her boyfriend was too busy marking out to notice.
