Paige defeated Brie Bella
Paige gets taken down early with a dropkick and then a running knee. She locks in a submission hold with her legs, cutting off the circulation to her head. Paige is able to fight out of it and has a bridging pinfall attempt. Brie hits a missle dropkick for a two count.
Nikki looks upset on the outside and Brie slaps Paige at the same time as Paige slaps her. Paige hits a few clotheslines in succession, followed by a dropkick. Paige throws Brie into Nikki and hits a Ram-Paige for the win.
Even though Brie bores me at times in the ring, because she tries to be her husband, Paige looked good tonight. She was on the defensive for the early going but really got going with her offense. There is no Diva, offensively, like her right now. If I had it my way, Paige wins the title and faces Charlotte at WrestleMania. THAT would create buzz in a Divas division that desperately needs a shot of adrenaline.I realize that it in unlikely, but they need to wise up and utilize their best talent.
Rusev and John Cena Face-Off
Lana comes out and says she wants to recognize the career of John Cena. They show a video package of Cena and the video turns from good to bad, showcasing his injuries and failures in WWE. She says he looks stronger than ever and his limits are just waiting to to be crushed. Rusev grabs the mic and he says that his time is over, no longer being the man he used to be. Rusev says he is a killer and John Cena does not want him.
He says he is weak and nothing. Rusev says he will break Cena’s body and crush his spirit. Out comes John Cena, who says all he hears is Rusev talking about Fast Lane and how he is superior. John Cena says the crowd just wants him to shut up and they are full of themselves. He says everytime he gets knocked down, he gets back up. He says he picked a fight with the wrong old man. He says he is going to whip his ass at Fast Lane. Rusev and Cena attack one another on the stage. Rusev pokes him in the eye and throws him into the set. He kicks him in the back and the segment is over.
Rusev is legit and John Cena will make him more important. That is what this feud is for. I like the slow burn for Rusev because too many guys get thrown into big spots and fail. He has risen more and more and continued to improve in every area. The guy can wrestle and now can talk for himself. Lana and Rusev are the definition of consistency and they can reach another height, thanks to John Cena. The physicality was a small piece, but not TOO much.
