At Money in the Bank 2013, Randy Orton outlasted five other Superstars including CM Punk and Rob Van Dam, earning a shot at the WWE Championship. This would set in motion his soon-to-be alignment with The Authority, unseating Daniel Bryan at SummerSlam to win the WWE title, and eventually the merging of the company’s top two titles.
