Kevin Owens vs. Cesaro

wwe summerslam In a grudge match between two crowd favorites, Cesaro and Kevin Owens put on a really good bout. I loved how Cesaro kept one upping Owens and then was able to showcase his strength. It should not be overlooked that Kevin Owens CONTINUES to put on quality matches on a weekly basis, but Cesaro is just a beast.

We expected a great match and we got one. I question the placement of the match, as well as the reasoning. Not all matches need deep and complex storylines, but this was definitely thrown together in 2-3 weeks. There should have been something on the line for each guy. They have been embattled in the US Title for months, so why not make this a “#1 Contender Match?” Especially knowing that you placed Seth Rollins and John Cena before this, it gives you something that you can look forward to immediately after SummerSlam and have a new contender ready to go.

I am not sure where either go from here, but both deserve something big. Both deserve a long and developed storyline that leads to some sort of big victory.

Divas Revolution

The night featured some of the most talented women on the WWE roster. A group of 9 Divas took over Brooklyn and put on an entertaining match. First off, Tamina took the pinfall loss for her team, which tells you all you need to know about what they think of her. Second, it came down to some of the most veteran Divas and the three who continue to make an impact.

My prediction was that Charlotte would pick up the win for her team. In reality, it was Becky Lynch who picked up the win. Yes, Paige got herself some with a nice flip from the top rope, taking all of the women out. Yes, Nikki and Brie did some solid in-ring work and yes to Charlotte getting the pop for her explosion on offense. Tonight needed to be about a new Diva and they went with Becky picking up the win. It reminds me of Dolph winning at Survivor Series. Becky needed this. She needed to show that she belonged with Paige, Sasha and Charlotte.

At the end of the day, will this help the division? Will they still rely on Nikki and Brie or really go for it all with the new core of women. My only gripe is that Banks needed to be given more opportunities to shine here.

His life outside of his obsession with wrestling include being a savant for Seinfeld, NFL, NBA, MLB and many television shows. He also has an undying love for musicals, which includes many shows he was a part of in high school.
