Isenberg Reacts: WWE RAW “Don’t Worry About Goldberg”

The Brian Kendrick took on TJ Perkins in a rematch from Hell in a Cell on WWE RAW. The bell rang and Perkins immediately attacked. He flew around the ring and to the outside, which allowed him to apply an armbar heading into the break. Coming back, it was more methodical and slow. Kendrick hit some nice kicks and another high-flying move. Perkins sends Kendrick face first into the top rope and hits a springboard hurricanrana over the top rope onto the outside. Perkins gets back into the ring, but Kendrick intentionally got himself counted out. He retains the championship. After the match, Perkins attacks Kendrick. Perkins gets Kendrick in the Knee Bar.

This was just good, if not better, than Sunday night. Perkins showed more anger and aggression that his previous few months on the roster. I liked it. I like how he can turn it on quickly and this showcased he is more than just pandering to the kids by being known as a gamer. His athleticism in the ring is stellar, with Kendrick being a perfect compliment. If I am WWE, I slowly sprinkle in guys like Rich Swann and Cedric Alexander. Give those guys more connection with the cruiserweight championship feuds.

Speaking of those two men, can we all agree they are better than their opponents? I like Tony Nese and think he is great, but the charisma from Swann and the pure athleticism from Alexander are going to carry them far. Drew Gulak is a guy to me that you create on WWF No Mercy on N64. I am not bashing his talent, but I have no idea if there is a more generic looking guy. For Lince and other masked superstars, you will see their stagnant feuds and be used to advance other guys in this deep roster. Overall, tonight was a strong outing for this division.

Braun Earns a Spot

Braun Strowman won a spot on the RAW Survivor Series team by winning a battle royal. The match was typical and you knew who was going to win. For Braun, it is going to be about how he performs in that match that will tell you all you need about his career. I can see it going like this; he dominates and crushes whomever is in the ring with him, potentially eliminating a few guys.

Will he be the last man standing? Doubtful, but he should. Instead, I can see them having him being counted out. I just wonder who the big man for Smackdown is going to be that stands in his way.

Currently, Josh Isenberg works for Major League Baseball in their Advanced Media Productions. He grew up in Pittsburgh and went to Point Park University, which is where Chair Shot Reality is filmed each week.

His life outside of his obsession with wrestling include being a savant for Seinfeld, NFL, NBA, MLB and many television shows. He also has an undying love for musicals, which includes many shows he was a part of in high school. Some of his favorite wrestling moments can be linked to such superstars as Edge, The Rock, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and The Great Khali.
