Who Will Beat The New Day?
It has to be a team that needs it. It has to be historic and has to be someone that the crowd needs to immediately care about. My choice would be The Revival. Arguably the best team in WWE and NXT combined, they have an incredible offensive skill set in the ring and have become the best parts of the last three NXT Takeover events. This gives them instant credibility on the main roster. They are not Enzo and Cass, a gimmick that works because of how entertaining they can be outside of the ring.
We all expected big things from The Ascension. We were wrong. We wanted The Vaudevillians to use their momentum from the first NXT Takeover Brooklyn and translate it to the main roster. They didn’t. American Alpha will be just fine because fans like seeing athletes that remind them of Kurt Angle, Shelton Benjamin, Charlie Haas and other excellent ring technicians. The Revival are old school, but is there fear they are “too” old school? Not if you have them defeat The New Day.
Looking back, The New Day should be applauded over and over and over again. They made a horrible gimmick into gold. Adding spice and everything nice, The New Day were able to become one of the most successful tag teams in the history of WWE. Their next step will be to overcome adversity, remain fresh have an even more successful 2017. I doubted them once. I will be damned if I doubt them again. They have a beautiful combination of speed, strength and intelligence. Sit back and thank these guys for resurrecting a division that was falling by the wayside. Because……New Day Rocks.
