Isenberg Reacts: WWE NXT “Who Steps Up In San Antonio?”

Next Feud For Tye Dillinger

nxt-social-22.jpg

Tye Dillinger comes out and talks about questioning himself, not knowing if he has it anymore. He gets the crowd behind him and then he is interrupted by Sanity. Eric Young talks to him about being a member of his group, also mentioning that he does not have a choice but he has to put on the jacket and become a member of Sanity. Dillinger stands up for himself and attacks Young, but Damo comes out and destroys him with a Spear. The match for NXT Takeover: San Antonio is made.

If this is the last feud for Tye Dillinger, I think he should go out with a victory over Eric Young. Tye is such a charismatic guy, with a following strong enough to make a statement on Monday or Tuesday nights. His chant continues to resonate through arenas and a debut in the Royal Rumble at number 10 should absolutely happen. Sanity is really interesting to watch, never knowing who will attack. One thing I know is how good Eric Young is. The man can speak and NXT Takeover should show more of his in-ring ability. I really do enjoy seeing Young compete, so now is the time to give him more time and more importance in a match all by himself.

How To Develop Roderick Strong

When I look at Roderick Strong, I see all of the tools in the ring. He has great skill, speed and strength to be a major player in NXT. My biggest concern is the NXT fans making sure he gets over. His background and history is well documented and anyone who is familar with ROH knows how good he is. With that being said, I do not see money in Strong right now. NXT did not debut him Strong enough to make me believe that he is important. I know how good he can be, but I am not sure NXT is completely buying into him right now. Yes, he is fresh and new to their brand. That did not stop them from debuting other big names from outside of the organization.

If I am NXT and WWE, I want Strong to be the guy that comes to NXT in spite of NXT. Make him a rebel, someone who succeeded outside of WWE and now wants to prove that he is better than everyone else. Give him an edge, an attitude and I think he could really shine.

Contract Signing for the NXT Championship

nxt-championship-social

Bobby Roode and Shinsuke Nakamaura are in the ring to sign a contract. Bobby Roode talks about being in NXT Takeover:Dallas to see his debut. He says Nakaumura is the “King of Strong Styles” but he has no style. Nakamura calls him a Japanese dog, and Roode fires back about saying he is the “It Factor” and the best wrestler on God’s green earth. He calls him a joke and says when he wins he will become NXT Champion and it will be glorious. Before he gets the word out, Shinsuke puts his hand up and over his face. Nakamura says he is going to kick Roode’s head off and then also says it is going to be glorious.

From showing his ticket as a fan from NXT Takeover: Dallas a week ago and now going face to face with Nakamura, NXT immediately put this match on a big stage. Was it too soon? I do not think so, because this has the potential to be a great feud up until Orlando. These two men do so well on the microphone together and got the crowd chanting both men’s names. You can feel that both of these men are head and shoulders above anyone else on the roster.

I will admit that, at first, I was skeptical because NXT only had a few weeks to build this into a championship match. They never really crossed any paths, but they capitalized and delivered a great promo in the ring on NXT Wednesday night. They have done so much in such a short amount of time to develop a backstory and continue to keep the spotlight on Roode’s progression in NXT, as well as Nakamura still being the number one guy in the brand. Buckle up for a wild ride in the next two months.
