Back in action on WWE RAW was Matt Hardy, who defeated Sheamus in a really good fight to determine the stipulation for Extreme Rules. As much as it would make sense for a Ladder Match, I understand why you would want to do something different. A Steel Cage match has potential to be really fun, especially since it is a tag team title match. The ideas and rules are tricky because if one man escapes, does the other need to as well? We have seen it both ways.

Matt and Jeff have helped Sheamus and Cesaro feel important, even without the gold around their waists. They have one week to hype it even more and I hope we get a chance to see Sheamus and Cesaro cut a promo in the ring and have the cage visualize the potential “splash” moves that we could see at Extreme Rules.

Golden Age and Trying To Help Apollo

The low card segments featured an old school Goldust cutting a promo about “The Golden Age” returning. Although I really liked Goldust and thought this promo was really good, I fear that it does not have enough legs to carry through to something important. If it gets enough attention, I would love to see him do something like this in the ring, maybe critiquing certain superstars to help him lead into a match. I just wish they give him something notable and not just guys like Titus, Truth or any other lower card talent.

Speaking of Titus, I still have no interest in Apollo Crews joining “The Titus Brand.” It’s a sloppy idea that is not funny and is not really helping anyone. Kalisto should be fighting with the 205 Live roster while Apollo really needs to find something that would help him get more than a 3 minute match.
