Isenberg Reacts: WWE Smackdown Live “Thank God Money in the Bank Always Delivers”

Making The Case for Each Opponent

The last shot after a solid match showed Shinsuke Nakamura pose with the briefcase. I want to make a case for all of the opponents involved and I think almost any of them could potentially win.

Shinsuke Nakamura – His run so far has been average, but still very early to tell. The language barrier can be an issue if WWE does not let him improve on that. I think if he wins the briefcase, it gives the briefcase a guy that we know will be world champion multiple times, but this helps distract from his lack of communication for the time being. That could be a bigger help than we even think.

Sami Zayn – He reminds me of Daniel Bryan, a guy that you want to cheer for because of how good he is in the ring. Daniel Bryan evolved and we have not really seen that from Zayn since being on the main roster. If he wins the briefcase, we could easily see him cashing it in and calling his shot. This could be similar to RVD and how he cashed in against John Cena. Sami could bring a unique storyline to the briefcase and he can continue to get other guys over while always remaining a threat.

Dolph Ziggler – The least possible option, but someone who can revitalize his career by winning the briefcase that helped him create one of the best moments in RAW history. Dolph still offers so much, but not many people take him seriously as a main event guy. It is sad to see, but this could be his second chance at making a world championship run after a cash-in. Hell, all heels do it in a slimy and unpredictable way. Ziggler has that DNA

Kevin Owens – Owens wins the briefcase and drops the United States Championship soon after. He is the smartest option here, but does he REALLY need it? He is always going to be one of the top 3 guys on Smackdown, champion/briefcase or not. If he wins, the US strap could go around someone else’s waist that needs it. Doesn’t he have a best friend that could use it?

AJ Styles – Like Styles needs another reason to win aside from being the best and still feeling like a guy with a chip on his shoulder. Add this to his already impressive resume and let him shock the world at the right time when cashing in. If he cashes in on a huge stage, he becomes an even bigger deal. Have him cashing in with the help of some former friends on a night where they are all together could be great pieces to a much bigger story.

Baron Corbin – Is he ready? I think so and I think he benefits the most by winning. Let Corbin be the guy that everyone is afraid of, but continues to one-up. Baron is good to go in the main event and a briefcase is exactly what he needs to stay at that level.

All in all, a poor week of wrestling from WWE. Neither show was captivating or really important. Aside from a few segments in 5 hours and 10 minutes of programming, this is a forgettable week. Thank God Money in the Bank Pay-Per-Views always deliver.
