Isenberg Reacts: WWE Smackdown Live “Surprise, Surprise…Maaaaan”

The Uso’s Attack

Attacking The New Day as they are announcing themselves to come to the ring is something that I have thought about for 2 years. I cannot recall that actually happening, until tonight. The Uso’s attack them and drag them to the stage, as they continue to whoop the champions in front of the Richmond crowd on Smackdown Live. I really liked this, especially since these two teams are not finished with one another. With a sneak attack and a rematch coming at SummerSlam, I feel that this could be the perfect opportunity for a Street Fight or something that could have both teams really push the limits outside of the ring.

Either way, a strong (yet quick) segment to remind us that this feud is far from over and we should all be extremely happy about that.

Jinder Mahal Demands An Opponent For SummerSlam

It did not end Smackdown Live. It did not start Smackdown Live. Jinder Mahal as champion rarely does either, which is annoying and illogical. Anyways, he demands someone to fight him at SummerSlam and John Cena makes his way out. He cuts a promo and then we get a massive announcement that Shinsuke Nakamura vs. John Cena will decide who faces Jinder Mahal at SummerSlam. A great promo from both men and Jinder continues to look more important on a weekly basis, but the announcement shocked me.

Interesting, to say the least. A dream match that should be featured at SummerSlam or WrestleMania will take place on Smackdown Live next week for the first time ever. Why? I am intrigued to see it, but next week? Also, where is Rusev? After an excellent match two days ago, he is nowhere to be found. What does Rusev have to do to be a consistent performer on Smackdown Live? I really do not understand his booking and the logic behind Cena vs. Nakamura next week.

I will be shocked if this match ends clean in 6 days. If they want to make me NEED to watch Smackdown Live next week, they did it with Owens/Styles and Cena/Nakamura. Wouldn’t those matches be better fitted in a few weeks at SummerSlam in Brooklyn?
