Isenberg Reacts: NXT Takeover Brooklyn III “Welcome to the New NXT, Baybay!”

Asuka vs. Ember Moon

takeover brooklyn

Ember and Asuka. The second of two bouts and a big question mark on if Asuka’s streak would be broken. I was one man that thought it might be broken tonight, considering all that she has done in NXT and all that she can do on Smackdown Live or RAW. Thankfully, I was wrong. Asuka, in a highly competitive bout with Moon, defeated her by submission. Another solid match and strong outing from both women and many felt Moon was ready.

WWE NXT has one superstar in the women’s division and her name is Asuka. They have plenty of talent below her, but she is on another level in the ring and with the crowd. Her charisma spills out of her mask, through her robe and into the NXT Universe. Tonight was another showing that she is consistently the best women’s performer in the world. Her continued dominance only shows that NXT is hers and hers alone. When everything changes, she remains the dominant constant.

Aleister Black is a Star

Hideo Itami vs Aleister Black was physical. Focusing on kicking strikes to the body, both men tried to chop the other down with their lower body power. Hideo, as a heel, continues to thrive with his aggressive offense and “no care” mentality.

Results via WZ Live Coverage:

Fisherman’s buster by Itami for yet another near fall. KENTA combo by Itami. Black surprises Itami with a spin kick. Black goes up top. Itami cuts Black off. Itami hits a running head kick followed by an avalanche falcon arrow! Black kicks out! before Itami can pick Black up Black pops up and stares Itami in the face. Itami and Black trade strikes. Black hits a high knee but Itami responds with a falcon arrow for another two count! Black crawls to the corner. Itami hits the hesitation dropkick. Itami pulls down his knee pad. Itami tries the GTS but Black fights out of it. Itami taunts Black while screaming for respect. Itami charges in and almost gets decapitated by Black Mass. Itami is out and this match is OVER.

Another night and another showcase for Aleister Black, who will certainly work his way up the NXT ladder with his abilities in the ring and his presence outside of it. He looks like a guy that is just being himself, not overdoing his gimmick and making his agility look so natural and simple. Tonight was all about how he is going to be perceived in the eyes of the NXT Universe and we can all see that this guy has money written all over him. The debut of Black was solid, but this outing was much better from an overall technical standpoint. Kudos to both men on another solid bout at NXT Takeover Brooklyn.
