WWE has added an unusual twist to Danhausen’s SummerSlam showdown with Dominik Mysterio after the fallout from the July 27 episode of Monday Night RAW.
What began as an ongoing dispute over stolen “human monies” has now evolved into one of the weekend’s most unique stipulations.
The decision came after a chaotic night at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. There, Danhausen found himself on the receiving end of another Judgment Day assault before making an unexpected proposal backstage.
Danhausen vs. Dominik Mysterio becomes a Human Monies on a Pole Match
Earlier in the night, Danhausen and Joe Hendry hosted an in-ring concert that WBC welterweight champion Ryan Garcia interrupted. The revered boxer aligned himself with Judgment Day. Garcia’s guitar shot opened the door for Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh to attack Danhausen and leave him laid out ahead of SummerSlam.
Later in the broadcast, RAW General Manager Adam Pearce confronted Danhausen in his backstage lab and instructed him to return the “human monies” he had previously taken from Judgment Day.
Rather than handing over the cash, Danhausen suggested settling the matter inside the ring. His proposal was a Human Monies on a Pole Match, and Pearce immediately made the stipulation official for SummerSlam Night Two.
The match will feature a briefcase containing $100,000 in “human monies” suspended above the ring. The winner will be the first competitor to climb the pole and retrieve the briefcase, bringing back a match type WWE has used only sparingly over the years.
The unusual rivalry began after Judgment Day paid Danhausen to place a curse on Oba Femi. When Danhausen failed to deliver on that promise and instead spent the money, Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh repeatedly demanded repayment, leading to weeks of confrontation.
Danhausen and Mysterio are now set to settle the debt on Sunday, August 2, during SummerSlam Night Two. In WWE, grabbing the brass ring is one thing — this time, the prize hanging above the ring is a briefcase full of “human monies.”
