Isenberg Reacts: WWE SummerSlam “Do We Have The WrestleMania Main Event Already?”

Universal Championship Chaos

Match of the night. A main event with three guys that are legit heavyweights delivered on all accounts. It was 20 minutes of chaos, intensity and big moves. The big moves includes the following:

Joe hit a Side Slam onto an announce table on Reigns.
Strowman crashed Lesnar through the announce table and threw a commentator’s chair at Reigns and Joe.
Strowman performed a second Running Powerslam through another announce table on Lesnar and overturned another announce table, which fell on Lesnar.
Strowman double chokeslammed Reigns and Joe
Reigns unleashed a Spear on Lesnar for a near-fall.
Joe applied the Coquina Clutch on Reigns but Strowman broke it up with a Running Front Dropkick on Reigns into Joe.
Lesnar hit an F5, with Reigns voiding the pinfall at a two count.
Reigns hit three Superman Punches on Lesnar. Lesnar caught him with an F5 and the win.

This main event showed you that you do not need every match to be built around 220 pound athletes who can fly. These four men delivered the best match of the night, showcased the sheer strength and raw power of all men and reminded us that the Universal Championship is still “The” championship in all of WWE. The decision to have Brock Lesnar retain the title was a smart business decision. The only other option would have been Braun Strowman, but I see WWE trying to extend it to WrestleMania.

As for Joe and Reigns, these guys did everything they needed to do to keep up with the monstrosity of Brock and Braun. I would love a Joe vs. Cena feud, as well as Reigns possibly looking to go in a different creative route. As we know, RAW has plenty of talent to choose from. We also were shown tonight that Braun Strowman is the future of WWE.

After tonight, is there any question in your mind that Brock vs. Braun should be one of the main events at WrestleMania for the Universal Championship?
