Santino Marella, in his promotion Destiny World Wrestling, awarded Don Callis a “comeback of the year” award, presented in front of his family in Toronto. It was a well-deserved award as Callis had been away from the business for over a decade before making a big comeback. His position as Impact executive had proven to do wonders for the company.
Unfortunately for Callihan, he would play spoilsport when he tried to end Eddie Edwards‘ career once and for all. Callis threw in a white towel and refused to let him continue his attack. Callihan, outraged, made his way to Toronto and would spoil his award ceremony by launching a pre-meditated attack on Callis, cutting the Impact executive open and choking him with a baseball bat.
That very baseball bat had become his trademark of brutality.
