Sami Callihan Is Just Getting Into Full Swing, Steve Maclin Will Be Seen As A Top Guy In The Next 2-3 Years

The Watch List takes a look at what matches you should be watching and they come recommended by today’s professional wrestling stars.

WrestleZone recently spoke with Sami Callihan, who picked his No Disqualification match against Steve Maclin at IMPACT Emergence 2022 as one that highlighted him getting back to full strength. Not only did Emergence highlight Callihan’s return to form, but he says it gave fans a glimpse at what Maclin is ready to achieve as well.

“I think it’s one of those things where I’m just now feeling like digging my feet in and feeling Sami Callihan again, really starting to hit my full swing. One of my favorite matches since coming back was against Steve Maclin in Chicago. It was an IMPACT Wrestling [subscriber] special, it was a bout that went all over the building and spanned over three different matches throughout the show. That’s probably one of my favorite things I’ve done at IMPACT Wrestling this year. It’s one of the reasons that Steve Maclin is one of the top guys in Wrestling Revolver. I think since him leaving the company that he was with for years, and now getting a chance to experiment and able to be the person he wants to be,” Callihan explained, “I think over the last year, he’s one of the most improved wrestlers on the planet. I think over the next two to three years, he’s gonna be looked at as one of the top guys in the entire business, I truly believe that.”

Callihan also spoke highly of the Barbed Wire Massacre match he, Maclin and Moose had at Victory Road 2022 and said that Maclin is really coming into his own now.

“Watch the stuff he’s been doing in Wrestling Revolver. He’s been killing it. He just became our World Champion this past December, and if you look back in November, we had a show called Smoke ‘Em If You Got ‘Em. You can watch it on FITE, watch it on FITE Plus; he had a four-way with Mance Warner, Steve Manders, and Crash Jaxon that was one of my favorite matches of the year.”
