The match between Stephanie McMahon and Trish Stratus that was mentioned above was a result of this WWE Championship contest. Again, this match is everything that represented the attitude era – primarily the chaos at ringside. It was a fairly straightforward affair, with Triple H being at odds against the heel WWE Champion Kurt Angle.
There was the added factor of Kurt Angle and Stephanie McMahon previously having tension, while Angle also befriended Trish Stratus. The match wasn’t an all-time classic, but it was wild, chaotic with all the ringside brawling between the women and the involvement of Mr. McMahon and ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, who was essentially responsible for Kurt Angle winning.
