While there were undoubtedly better cash-ins (and you could argue that the Ambrose one was better), the reason we rank this so high up is due to the sole reason that it was the first-ever MITB cash-in. Nobody knew when Edge was going to cash in his briefcase, so the sense of anticipation made it exciting.

Also, by the start of 2006, John Cena, the WWE Champion at the time, already began to receive the polarizing reactions that would define his career. With many fans getting sick and tired of Cena, they were delighted to see Edge cash in on a broken, beaten and battered Cena, whose face was covered in a crimson mask.

Edge would end up finishing Cena with ease, winning his first of eleven world titles.
