Can you believe that Kurt Angle vs Sting was supposed to happen in 2002? Post-Invasion Angle, WWE were in talks with The Vigilante Sting to face Kurt Angle in a big money match. While they were getting close, a series of factors led to talks falling out. For one, Sting cited that there were too many attorneys involved. Secondly, he stated that Vince McMahon wanted him to commit to more time than he was willing to give.
To add to it, Sting didn’t trust Vince McMahon and WWE’s booking, because he felt that he would be brought in just for them to undermine WCW talent as they had been doing the previous year. Thankfully, Sting and Kurt Angle did cross paths multiple times when they were in TNA, having some great matches.
