#3.) Bret Hart

Just like his rival Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart wasn’t fully able to draw viewers back like the superstars who preceded him. We’re talking about his earlier title reigns. In 1992, after Hulk Hogan had left, Vince McMahon needed to pick a superstar who clearly wasn’t on steroids and feature them heavily. He chose the young Bret Hart to take up that role and in late 1992, he won his first World title.

Unfortunately, that reign didn’t exactly set the world on fire. He did receive his coronation at WrestleMania X, but the truth is that entire period was a huge slump for the company in terms of ratings, so Hart wasn’t able to draw as much as expected.
