Edge was a beneficiary when he moved to RAW in 2004 and he was also a beneficiary when he moved back to SmackDown in 2007. In the latter, it was to exploit an opportunity after The Undertaker and Batista had gone to war in a World title match. Edge was the Money in the Bank briefcase holder, so he used the opportunity to attack a beaten down Deadman and capture the World Heavyweight Championship.
From here, Edge became a SmackDown superstar through and through and reportedly even refused a move back to RAW. He would become one of the top 2-3 stars of the brand constantly and a year later, he would reach the pinnacle of his career, main eventing WrestleMania.
