#5.) Roman Reigns vs Daniel Bryan
January of 2015 was a very interesting time in WWE. Daniel Bryan had announced his intention to participate in the Royal Rumble late that month, so many fans expected Bryan to finally get the Rumble win that he was denied the previous year and go on to have a dream bout with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31.
WWE’s plans, once again, was different. Lesnar had been on a tear as WWE World Heavyweight Champion and the company intended to have their next big star Roman Reigns defeat him in the main event of WrestleMania for a grand coronation and to establish him as the new face of WWE.
The biggest obstacle for WWE was the fans, who were well aware of this and their push of Reigns was met with heavy backlash, where they booed Roman Reigns heavily for winning the Royal Rumble. It would only get worse and WWE felt the best way to sell the fans on Reigns was by beating the current fan-favorite in Bryan. While fans were not convinced, it didn’t stop the two from having an incredible feud and subsequently an incredible match at Fastlane, where Reigns defeated Bryan to secure his WrestleMania main event spot.
