Joe Hendry: ‘If CM Punk Can Compete In UFC Then Why Can’t Joe Hendry?”

On Defiant Wrestling Loaded #3, Joe Hendry said that he’s looking to transition out of professional wrestling and into mixed martial arts. The Scottish wrestler is a decorated amateur wrestler in his own right, but had found success professionally for IMPACT Wrestling and World of Sport.

He talked about the difficulties of balancing his amateur and professional wrestling careers, saying that he can’t reach the heights he wants to in either if he’s not dedicating himself to one. “He who tries to have it all ends up with nothing,” stated Hendry. “I’m 30 years old. I’ve got some goals to achieve. If CM Punk can compete in the UFC then why can’t Joe Hendry? Maybe it’s time to go down the mixed martial arts route. I’m a two-time British amateur wrestling champion, and I know it’s possible. Whether it’s UFC, Bellator or BAMMA, this is something I can do. I want every single one of you to come with me.”
